This drawing was for the "Icons & Idols" publication curated and edited by Fake Geek Girls Like Us. The theme of the publication was to “explore the relationships of fans with their geeky icons through visual art and written works.” My piece focuses on my favourite comic book character, Laura Kinney/X-23. Her advocacy and own steps to rehabilitation from early childhood trauma is so important, and the drawing highlights her goodwill by mimicking the Immaculate Heart of Mary paintings pose that is so associated with goodness.
